Three months of fun!

So Jared is now three months old! That's a quarter of a year! He is so stinkin cute! We are having so much fun. He loves to smile (at least I think he does because he does it all the time) and talk to us. He seems to think his hands are fascinating and has now started playing with toys. He does great sleeping at night which we are truly thankful for. He hasn't been too in to the rolling over thing but does a really good job holding his head up. He loves to stand up while we are holding him. According to our Wii Fit he weighs around 14 pounds. (There is a new feature that lets you weigh your babies and pets)

Every night his Dad gives him a bath and he loves it.

Wouldn't you love to be holding him right now?

We have gotten into a great routine since we have been back from California. Jared is just so easy going! He has made the transition into parenthood really fun. This week has been really fun. We have gone on lots of fun walks because its been sunny and in the upper 40's and mid 50's all week. Its been such a nice winter! I also went over to Mark's school twice to work out with some teachers. Their school is hosting a biggest loser competition which I am not participating in but its been nice to exercise with some other people. I really appreciate Mark's willingness to watch Jared and stay at school a little longer so I can do this. I am thrilled to report that I am now the same weight that I was at my first doctor's appointment with Jared last March. I also tried out our new crock pot and love it and made some cinnamon rolls. It's been such a great week and we are looking forward to the long weekend!

Such a happy boy!

While we were in California we had the opportunity to bless Jared. We decided to wait until we went to California for Christmas to bless him so we could have family members there. Mark and Jared both did an awesome job and it was a very special experience. Our greatest hope for Jared is that he will have a strong personal desire to learn about the Savior. Of course we want many other things but we really want him to be able to learn the truth of things for himself and gain his own testimony.
Most of my siblings were there and a lot of Mark's family came up from Turlock to be there. We really appreciate the support and love of our families. Mark's dad, and brother David were able to participate and his brother in laws Ben and Kris. My dad also helped out.
After the blessing everyone came over to my parents house and had lunch together. Unfortunately we were so busy trying to get a picture of all the people who came that I did not get one of the three of us alone or of my family. Oh well. We can always take one later. We are so thankful that we have Jared!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Morning
(Yep, if you look closely you can still see my black eye)

We actually had to wake him up for presents, (not that he could open them anyway) we don't expect that to happen too many more times in his life.

Driving to California from Colorado takes forever! We are of course glad that we went home for Christmas but it was not a fun car trip. Jared was such an all star in the car though it was just so long! He pretty much just slept until we stopped to feed him every 3 hours or so. He is such a good kid. This might sound awful but Mark and I didn't actually buy Jared any presents because we knew that he would get plenty at home and we were right! His possessions have now doubled. He got some cute toys and its funny because he hasn't been interested in them before and I don't know how to help him play with them but we will figure it out.
We spent a few days in Turlock and Yuba City visiting with our families and seeing old friends. It is so fun that all of our family members on both sides were able to meet Jared over the break. Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and Great Grandparents, and way too many cousins to count. Christmas Eve brought the Spencer family Nativity, with Jared playing the lead role. We are so glad that we got to see all of our family members! Christmas Day we drove up to Yuba City and had dinner with my family. It was fun to see Jared with his cousins, they were so sweet with Jared.
