Merry Christmas!

Christmas Morning
(Yep, if you look closely you can still see my black eye)

We actually had to wake him up for presents, (not that he could open them anyway) we don't expect that to happen too many more times in his life.

Driving to California from Colorado takes forever! We are of course glad that we went home for Christmas but it was not a fun car trip. Jared was such an all star in the car though it was just so long! He pretty much just slept until we stopped to feed him every 3 hours or so. He is such a good kid. This might sound awful but Mark and I didn't actually buy Jared any presents because we knew that he would get plenty at home and we were right! His possessions have now doubled. He got some cute toys and its funny because he hasn't been interested in them before and I don't know how to help him play with them but we will figure it out.
We spent a few days in Turlock and Yuba City visiting with our families and seeing old friends. It is so fun that all of our family members on both sides were able to meet Jared over the break. Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and Great Grandparents, and way too many cousins to count. Christmas Eve brought the Spencer family Nativity, with Jared playing the lead role. We are so glad that we got to see all of our family members! Christmas Day we drove up to Yuba City and had dinner with my family. It was fun to see Jared with his cousins, they were so sweet with Jared.

Oh boy, the first Christmas. Don't worry, none of our kids (except Eliza) got presents their first Christmas either. And the only reason Eliza did? She was 2 weeks from 1 year old. All the others were 6 months or younger.

What a beautiful Christmas! Jared will be learning how to play soon enough. Just you wait! Then you won't be able to get him to stop! ;)

It was smart of you not to buy anything!!

Looks like you had a fun Christmas! Jared is getting so big--we won't even recognize him when we see him next (which I hope is sooner rather than later).
